Default Apple Music Pauses, AirPods 2 & Display Link macOS Monterey - HDCP Video protection

Hello,

Anyone having an issue where apple music won't play the next track on shuffle when using AirPods 2 and the DisplayLink software? Below are the versions I'm running:

-macOS 12.3.1 Monterey
-Apple AirPods 2 model A2031
-DisplayLink Diamond Multimedia USB 3.0 to DVI/HDMI Video Graphics Adapter model BVU3500H
-Apple music 1.2.3.56

Displays
• HP24es #1: HDMI cable > HDMI port (MAC)
• HP24es #2: HDMI cable > USB C hub > USB C Port (MAC)
• Benq FP951: DVI to HDMI cable > DisplayLink USB 3.0 Adapter > USB A Port (MAC)

Thanks.

EDIT: I found out this is due to HDCP Video protection even though I'm playing Audio!!!!!!!

Yeah I'm having the same issue. It would be nice to get an update for this - it appears to be an issue that's been around for awhile. Mine sometimes works - other times it doesn't.

I'm having the same issue. Up until now I would get the HDCP error message maybe once a week, but could just dismiss it and it was fine. Something changed today and even after reboots and update to the latest DisplayLink manager, Apple Music is just refusing to play entirely (even when the window is on my one monitor that is directly connect over thunderbolt rather than through DisplayLink).

I figured out the issue, it's only on downloaded songs. I had downloaded my music earlier this week. Streamed songs are fine

Hi All,

I've been in contact with both apple and displaylink. Apple of course wasn't very helpful. Displaylink is trying to reproduce the issue now to look into. Hopefully, we can get this issue resolved!

alex.taffe thanks for confirming that detail about steaming vs downloaded content. I have all my music downloaded to help reduce bandwidth on our network.

As stated on this page https://www.diamondmm.com/product/bv...-adapter-html/ my device supports HDCP so not sure why apple music is throwing the error.

I have a support ticket open with DisplayLink open as well as a feedback report with Apple. Sure this will be a blame game back and forth, but either way at least removing local downloads is a solution

Update - They have reproduced the issue internally and an active investigation has been opened. Hopefully an update comes out soon!

I am having the same issue. Have posted about it in an apple thread here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread...in=true&page=1

Would love an update, as this is very frustrating.
