Ubuntu Bionic Beaver 18.04 LTS Driver install fails
Hi,
I know its still a it early, but back in times i also tried to install the display Link driver on a pre-release 16.04 LTS and it worked very well. I allready updated most of our computers to ubuntu 18.04 LTS cause it will be the "future LTS" But had to find out that the Display-Link Dock wont work. I did the whon installation process step-by-step link with 16.04 but it ends at: Code:
notger@notger-FZ-G1ACBDXM3:~/displaylink$ sudo ./displaylink-driver-4.1.9.run Verifying archive integrity... All good. Uncompressing DisplayLink Linux Driver 4.1.9 100% DisplayLink Linux Software 4.1.9 install script called: install Distribution discovered: Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch) Installing Configuring EVDI DKMS module Registering EVDI kernel module with DKMS Building EVDI kernel module with DKMS ERROR (code 3): Failed to build evdi/4.1.9. Consult /var/lib/dkms/evdi/4.1.9/build/make.log for details.. Thanks for Support making this work. Greets Notger PS.: id be very happy with any Beta-realease Driver too, cause now without Docking station functionality most Notebook are more-less useless |

Hi,
Please try the 4.2 release. If it fails in similar way, please paste the make.log mentioned in the last line. Thanks, Michal |

Hi,
Having the same problem here under 18.04 LTS (beta), but even with 4.2 driver version my e1649FWU is not working (freeze with some colored lines). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! |

Hi,
I've also updated to the new ubuntu Bionic Beaver 18.04 LTS and my DA100 adapter no longer works. Trying to re-install drivers yields to the same error reported before Code:
ERROR (code 3): Failed to build evdi/4.1.9. Consult /var/lib/dkms/evdi/4.1.9/build/make.log for details m. |
