Device Not Recognized
I have a Kensington docking station that I got about a month ago. I installed the software that came with it and everything seemed to be working just fine. Then the monitor wouldn't come back to life when I hit a key (the keyboard was accepting input). I also noticed that if I tried to restart the reload would hang at the fist screen (the black with an input cursor). I had to disconnect the docking station for the reload to continue. We I plugged the docking station back in I would get an unknown USB device message but, the docking station would work. I called Kensington and they had me uninstall the original driver and download DisplayLink 6.3. This didn't fix the problem. The only way to get the monitor to restart is to open the laptop, disconnect the docking station and then reconnect it. I also still can't restart with the docking station connected. I tried 6.2 but, the problem is the same.
Laptop: HP Pavilon dv6 running Windos 7 64 bit Asus Monitor Oh, and yes I have the power management set to do nothing when the lid is closed. |
