Default Unlocking with Apple Watch is not available while your screen is being shared

"Unlocking with Apple Watch is not available while your screen is being shared"

This message appears when my MacBook is conected on my D6000 docking station. So I can't untilize the apple watch to unlock my computer. This is a software issue right?

Any workaround?

Hello,

Thank you for posting!

The Apple Watch issue is known, this is something that would need to be changed in the OS. The message appears whenever there is anything using the OS interface to add additional displays and it is not specific to DisplayLink.

We've raised it with Apple some time ago, but as with all these issues, the more it is reported by users, the more inclined they are to fix it. We recommend contacting Apple about it or raising a bug with them. I apologise for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
Katarzyna

Apple is not the kind of company that will make changes to their technology to accomodate third party requests.

Maybe a DisplayLink dock was not the best option..

Default Any Update?

Seeing if there is any update to the original question? I have a docking station connected to my Mac hooked up to dual monitors and would like to be able to unlock my mac with my Apple watch.

At some point I got tired of all the quirks and annoyances of the displaylink drivers.

I bought a USB-C Pro Dock from caldigit and the problem was solved. https://www.caldigit.com/usb-c-pro-dock/
