Default Display link only connect to 1 screen at a time: MacBook Pro M1 13” 2020

I am using the MacBook Pro M1 13” 2020, I have 2 LG ultrafine monitors. Display link can only pick up 1 screen at a time, when I disconnect the docking station thunderbolt USB-C cable, either 1 or the other monitor works. Both monitors are connecting and working but just not at the same time.

MacBook Pro M1 13” 2020
Sequoia 15.3
DisplayLink Manager 1.11.0
Plugable Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 HDMI Docking Station
LG Ultrafine 4K 23.7” monitor
LG Ultrafine 5K 27” monitor

How can I resolve this?

Hi

(Edited to add - I think I may know the problem, I think I have misunderstood a MacWorld online article and have bought the wrong kind of Hub, I believe the one I have bought is not compatible with DisplayLink, but if anyone can confirm for me, that would be helpful as it seems that this Hub will only ever allow one monitor to be connected for me).

I have exactly the same problem, having just bought and connected an EZQuest USB-C Multimedia 10-in-1 Get 2 Hub, and running a MacBook Air M2 2022 model.

I am not an expert by any means, but I have carefully followed all instructions, installed the software, made the required Privacy changes etc etc, and I can only get one monitor to receive a signal.

I am attempting to connect two monitors which are, acceptedly, old, and only have VGA out ports. One is connected via an HDMI adaptor, and this is the one I am plugging in via the USB-C hub. The second I am connecting via an Apple brand VGA to USB-C adaptor, which I have tried plugging into the Hub, and into the laptop directly, but I cannot get the two motors to work at the same time.

I can get one running, but then if I connect the second, there is no output signal to that monitor, and the laptop cannot 'see' it in Displays settings. If I then disconnect the working monitor cable, then after a few moments the laptop then recognises the other monitor that is there, and it starts to work.. so, only one will work at a time.

However, I don't know if I should be doing anything more with the DisplayPort software? I have enabled the auto startup function, but then I am not doing anything with it, and it's not asking me to do anything... where am I going wrong!?

Thanks to all, from this first time poster

LC

Hi,
The Plugable Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 HDMI Docking Station and the EZQuest USB-C Multimedia 10-in-1 Gen 2 Hub are not DisplayLink-based docking stations and therefore will not support more than 1 external display on chips such as the Apple M1/M2/M3 and M4.
