Arrow DisplayLink 7.9M3 causing Start Menu (Start,Cortana, edge) to crash

On Friday, I installed DisplayLink 7.9M3 on Windows 10, after which my Start Menu would not appear and the error log indicated errors with ShellExperienceHost, Cortana and Edge. After trying various fixes, I gave up until this morning, when a search happened to find the same error mentioned in a Beta Testing thread here. I uninstalled 7.9M3 and reinstalled 7.9M2 and my Start Menu is now working again. Hence 7.9M3 obviously has some kind of issue. I await the next release...

Hello Derek,

Thanks for bringing this to our intention and how you addressed.
Unfortunately, using 7.9M2 is not something which is going to work very long term.
The issue we had with the Start menu disappearing was in 7.9M2 and solved for people who have tried 7.9M3, so it looks you might have encountered another bug somewhere.

May I ask if you could run 7.9M3 one more time and create some log files so I can feed back to the engineering team to investigate?
KB533818: How can I report Windows issues to DisplayLink?

Default Diagnostic log info

I found time to install 7.9M3 over 7.9M2. The problem persists, so I've emailed the diagnostic info to the technical team.n I've reinstalled 7.9M2 (which works for me).
