Default DisplayLink not showing in DeviceManager

I'm running on a Dell 7400 laptop on current Windows 10 and using a Belkin Dual Display USB C Dock. I installed the DisplayLink on a MacBook Pro using this same Dock with no problems so the hardware seems to be functional.

When I install DisplayLink on Windows, the DisplayLink device does not show up anywhere in Device Manager. I have repeatedly uninstalled and re-installed the DisplayLink software including reboots and using the Cleaner and multiple cable configurations. I have yet to see DisplayLink in Device Manager.

Are there any additional steps I can try?

Hello,

When you say that the device does not show anywhere in Device Manager does it mean that is also does not show as Generic USB Hub under the USB bus?

Please open the Device Manager and keep an eye on it while you connect and disconnect the docking station to see if it shows up anywhere under any name.

Best regards,
Katarzyna

When the Belkin Dock is not plugged in, there are no "Generic USB Hub" entries under "Universal Serial Bus controllers". When the Dock is plugged in there are 3 "Generic" entries. Here are their hardware ID values:

○ Universal Serial Bus controllers
Generic USB Hub
□ USB\VID_0BDA&PID_5411&REV_0101
□ USB\VID_05E3&PID_0610&REV_3298
□ USB\VID_0BDA&PID_5411&REV_0002

Hello,

Can you tell me what is the exact model of the docking station?

None of the PID's match DispkayLink - ours should start with USB\VID_17E9&PID_XXXX.
Which could mean that it is not a DisplayLink powered device.

The device is a Belkin Dual Display USB-C Dock.

The Belkin support page here says that it requires DisplayLink drivers. Also, the device did not work with my Mac until I installed the DisplayLink drivers.
