Resolution issue with multi-viewII and HP ZR2740W on XP

HP ZR2740W - capable of 2560 x 1440 DVI-D connector
MultiviewII - USB connection using DL-195 Adapter driver version 6.12.10.601

Exec Summary - cannot get any other resolution other than 1280x720 when connecting to the ZR2740W monitor.

History - installed drivers for the multi-viewII and worked great when connected using VGA adapter to Samsung Syncmaster 2343W. This also works okay with HP LA2205WG giving an output of 1680 x 1050 (max for screen) via DVI-D connection.

Question - why can't i get at least this resolution output when connecting to the HP ZR2740W using the same cable connection??

The modes that will be available will be those that the monitor reports.

I suspect that 1280x720 will be the highest resolution that is reported by the monitor AND supported by the adapter. 2560x1440 will not be supported as that requires dual DVI on that monitor.
