Default No Displayport signal from D6000 on Ubuntu 16.04

I have a D6000 attached via a USB 3.0 port to a fairly new Dell XPS running Ubuntu 16.04. The DisplayLink 5.1 Ubuntu driver is installed. All ports on the D6000 work except the Displayports. The HDMI port to the Dell monitor works fine. Displayports to the same Dell monitor do not. There is no signal from those ports. Output from your support tool is attached.

Additional information: I connected two Displayport to HDMI adapters to the Displayports on the D6000 and tried each with the monitor mentioned above. No signal from either.

Today (Pi Day - March 14), I verified that the Displayport on the monitor mentioned above works. I connected a Displayport cable from an 8 or 10 year old Dell/Alienware laptop's Displayport to the monitor's Displayport. Got a good screen on the monitor. This laptop was running Ubuntu 18.10.

Later, I booted Windows 7 on the old laptop. Got a good signal from both its native Displayport and its HDMI port when connected to the monitor. I downloaded and installed the Windows 7 Displaylink firmware then connected the D6000 to a USB 2.0 port (USB 3.0 on the D6000). Both the DIsplayports and the HDMI port on the D6000 showed up on the monitor.

This indicated to me that the D6000 hardware was likely operational - not faulty.

I rebooted the old laptop into Ubuntu 18.10 and tried its native Displayport and HDMI port connections to the monitor. They appeared fine. I downloaded the Displaylink 5.1 Ubuntu firmware and installed it.

The result was a little surprising. I was able to get a D6000 Displayport connection to the monitor working, but NOT the HDMI connection.

So here are the overall results: On the newer laptop running Ubuntu 16.04, the Displayports do not work on the D6000, but the HDMI port does. On the old laptop running Ubuntu 18.10, the Displayports on the D6000 work, but not the HDMI port.

It appears to me that there are likely bugs in the Displaylink 5.1 Ubuntu firmware.

Same issue here and only difference in set up is I have Ubuntu 18.04.

Are you also getting 30Hz on the HDMI link? I was hoping for a 60Hz display over DP to improve the experience on a 4K monitor.

I don't know what the frequency of the HDMI link is. How can I get that?

I found a menu setting on the monitor. It said the refresh was at 60 hz. Don't know if that reflects the signal or not.
