Displaylink developers having vacation?
It has been some time now since any news. 1.5b6 appeared months ago.
Are all having vacation or what? |

Not sure if it's abandoned as there is a b7 driver floating around on the DoubleSight website (http://www.doublesight.com/product/?idx=53). I'm using this version without any problems - this driver was released just over a week ago but no update or announcement made here.
We appear to have lost our voice within DisplayLink (Patrick) and it is the lack of communication that is causing such concern here. |

Thanks
Thanks for the update about the other site. Yes, it is concerning that communications seems to have broken down here.

I sent a PM to Seb about a week ago I believe and still no response. Maybe someone should call DisplayLink Support and ask for Patrick or Seb just to see if they still work there?

It seems, that Displaylink have went into silence for some reason.
They are actually active here, just with no response. http://displaylink.org/forum/member.php?u=2 Now we just have to wait the time, when they shut down the website. Unbelievable. |

Yeah, DisplayLink has HORRIBLE service. At least communicate with the people that purchased YOUR product and give them at least a timeframe of when new drivers will be released!?
Do you think they have abandoned the whole support for Snow Leopard and Mac?! |

A *real* shame, but there you go - time to move on I think. |

It would be illogical for a small company to abandon an entire platform because of some driver difficulties. Mac users are a vocal group and early adopters with large disposable income.

dmix is right about the whole "large disposable incomes" piece. I just threw away $300 on the Matrox TripleHead2Go in hopes that it *could* allow me to connect my additional monitors...
Their support told me that I was out of luck as my graphics card was 'too new' for their card, and that I should look at buying another computer with 256MB or less RAM to be compatible with their product. Newegg won't take it back as it was a "special order item". Bottom line is that DisplayLink is our best hope in getting additional monitors to work with our computers in a reliable fashion. |
