Default USB Display Adapter not showing in System Report > USB

Hi everyone,

Needless to day the reason I am here is because my monitors are not working as expected on my MBP running BigSur 11.4.

I read and followed the article: Check the device is recognised on the USB bus, and found that the USB Display Adapter is not showing there. However, everything else in the docking station does show: USB 10/100/1000 LAN, USB Audio, any USB drives I connect to the docking station, etc.

Also, Display Manager (1.4.0) shows No Monitor Detected, Login screen extension status: Installed.

The weird thing is that the monitor connected to the only HDMI in the docking station works and it shows in System Preferences > Display. But if I connect a second monitor to the docking stations (using Display Port this time) the second one only mirrors the first one (but it all show pink though, so not really working as expected) and it cannot be seen in System Preferences > Display.

I would appreciate any help to get multiple monitors to work. Thanks

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

Would you list make and model of all the devices and how they are connected?
We also need details about the laptop: year, model, processor.
Without information, it is not possible to make any recommendation.

Regards,
Alban

Thank you,
The HP USB-C Elite Dock G4 is not using DisplayLink technology, therefore the DisplayLink Manager app won't affect its functionality.

That's an MST dock and Apple macOS doesn't support MST, so all external screens are expected to be the same.

The latest dock in HP portfolio they created with DisplayLink technology is the HP Universal USB-C/A G2.
