All was working well until the device drive centre recommended I update to 7.7 of display link now I have a BSOD with PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA If I have the docking station attached it won't boot it just hangs on a dell logo, without it it boots to the login screen and then immediately throws the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA dlkmd.sys This is a i5 running windows 8.1 HELP! OK BSOD fixed! I will try reinstalling the Displaylink software later and see what happens!
To fix the BSOD I unplugged the docking station, rebooted to safe mode (hit F8) and then used SafeMSI (google it) to enable windows installer in safe mode, it works on Windows 8.1 eventhough its not listed as supported, Uninstalled all Displaylink (core and application) and rebooted. Windows now works normally but without docking station. Hope this helps someone else... |

OK so reinstalling the same version from the very same installation file, worked! WTF!!!
only things different is there was no previous version installed and I installed the software before connecting the docking station. but all is now working fine. |
