Please try using Windows aero mode, rather than basic graphics mode. This should solve the issue.

Thanks

Wim

Thumbs down

Hi,

I’ve been experiencing this same problem along with some Silverlight websites.

The hardware I'm running is.

HP ProBook 4525s, Win 7 PRO 32bit, ATI 4200 series latest drivers 8.850.0.0

HP USB Docking Station (HSTNN-S02X) Latest driver from the Display Link site and the Beta driver.

PowerPoint 2010 either goes to a black screen then crashes or freezes and as you move the mouse paints square blocks over the screen.

Tested aero on off, older ATI drivers, Totally fresh install of Windows 7 and Given it the finger!

We have bought about 10 of these for our office. WE NEED A FIX PLEASE!!

Hi

From the log files, you are running Windows Basic graphics mode, which is why you are seeing the problem. The fix at the moment is to switch to Aero mode, which will avoid the problem.

Wim
Thank you very much!!!

I could have sworn I switched to aero during my testing as it was mentioned earlier in the thread!

Thank you again and sorry for the rant!

Hi Wim,

I'm also having the problems with Powerpoint.
Am using a HP Probook 4520s, Win7 64bit.
Have upgraded vga drivers and am using displaylink 5.6 beta.
I have made sure I'm using Aero but am still having the same problem.

I have attached the DisplayLink support files.
Could you have a look at them for me please?

Kind regards,
Hendrik

Yes, you look to be using aero mode so it is a different problem to the above posts.

What exactly are the powerpoint problems? Is it not drawing correctly? If so is it just presentation mode or design mode?

What version of Powerpoint are you using?

Thanks

Wim

Hi Wim,

Thanks for getting back to me so quick
I'm using Powerpoint 2010; version 15.0.4760.1000.

The Design mode seems to work fine.

When I click on Presentation mode, it flicks to full screen, shows the first page for a split second and then the screen turns black. The navigation arrows are still showing but do not respond. The presentation crashes and won't close unless I force it with task manager.

Thanks again.

Hi Wim,

Just wondering if you have any news on this as I'm about to order several hundred of these docking stations?

Regards,
Hendrik

Default powerpoint 2010 black screen issue

Hi Wim,
I am also having problems with DisplayLink and powerpoint 2010. When I go to slide show mode, the projector screen goes black. We have also noticed the same issue with videos in full screen mode. My laptop is a Dell E6410 and I am running windows xp. I have attached the zip file.
