Default DisplayLink black screen for MacBook Pro2018 10.15 (Catalina)

Recently upgraded the MacBook Pro 2018 to Catalina (10.15). Since then, the dual Dell monitors connected to DisplayLink Station are black but the mouse cursor is visible as I can move it from screen to screen.

I noticed in the Release Notes (Build: 5.2.54 (50b0cf0) Date: 16th October 2019) in section G. Operating System Limitations > General Limitations the following:

"DisplayLink screens are black with only mouse cursor visible on MacBook Pro 2018 with initial macOS 10.14.0. (28503)".

It seems strange that this is a known error and yet the software has been released into the community. I am pretty sure I am not the only one with a MacBook Pro 2018 that has this problem.

My question is when is this issue going to be fixed as my DisplayLink Station is now useless?

Thanks!

Hello,

The limitation states 10.14.0, which isn’t 10.15.
It didn’t happen on newer 10.14.x without changing the DIsplayLink driver...

You most likely have Kext to nudge:

We’re trying to move away from the current API.

Kind regards,
Alban
