Again, the PC thinks that the Ethernet cable is disconnected from the dock. Are the LEDs on, on the dock, to show an Ethernet link? Does it recover if you power cycle the dock and reboot the PC? Does the switch on the other end of the Ethernet cable think there is a link?

I tried powering down and rebooting. I do not have the lights flashing on the back of the dock. The wire is good I am running on it now. I have used the ethernet through the dock before but it just quit working.

If you power cycle the dock, does this recover the issue?
Does this occur every time you attach?
What is the status of the gigabit adapter in device manager?

Thanks

Wim

ok I reset the tarsus dock!
1- it seems to pull power thru the usb ports as I disconnected the power line and the brick's green light would not go out ? So i unplugged all USB and the bricks light died out ! This seemed to actually kill power to the dock. I plugged power back in and it started and re installed device all is good i have internet thru dock

Default Same Issue No Ethernet Connection

No link lights on Ethernet port, cable is plugged in and installation completed multiple times using latest drivers 7.6M1.

Support files attached, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

This can happen if you are using a half duplex connection typically used by network hubs: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=299

Can you check if this is the case?

Thanks,
James

Angry Ethernet connection of dock vanishes if connected computer goes to sleep

My company recently started trying to use Targus Universal USB 3.0 DV docking stations (with power) with some new Dell XPS 13 laptops. I'm their computer support specialist, so it's my responsibility to get the new machines up & running. I've immediately noticed problems with these docking stations, in that if the laptop "falls asleep" while connected to it, upon wakeup the Ethernet adapter is just gone. It doesn't show as disconnected, it's just simply not there anymore. Unplugging the dock from the USB and plugging it back in again does nothing to restore the Ethernet adapter. I end up having to uninstall the software/drivers, and re-install them before the Ethernet adapter in the docking station will be seen again. This is ridiculous. This is clearly a widespread issue (as seen in the Amazon reviews for the product), so why haven't problems like this been addressed yet?
