Lag with Club3d Sensevision
Hi,
I got Club3D Sensevision module I use it on a sony laptop as second graphic adapter to use on EIZO SX3031W which is capable of Dual Input through DVI So, my setup is like this : Sony Vaio to Eizo through integrated graphics Sony Vaio to EIZO through Club3d module Using driver version 5.6 or 6.0 has the same effect Optimization for video is disabled Screen where I am using Displaylink adapter is suffering some light lag, mouse is moving by small jumps and webpages or software suffer from eratic loading Any idea about that lag ? By the way are there any more powerful adapters than Club3d one ? Or are they all built on the same pcb/chip/memory etc... ? Thanks for your answers |

Can you post the logs from your system as described here:
http://kb.displaylink.com/269 This will give us more information on where the problem might be. Thanks Wim |

I think the problem could be with the primary graphics drivers. They are an old version of driver:
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS (NVIDIA) Graphics Driver: 8.16.11.8735 Dated 2009-09-16 Graphics: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (NVIDIA) Graphics Driver: 8.16.11.8735 Dated 2009-09-16 Could you try updating these, as it should increase the performance of the DisplayLink screens. Unfortunately those are the latest given by Sony for VGN-Z range of laptops.
Some custom made drivers are available, but then displaylink adapter does not work with them, see this discussion here : http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony...-graphics.html |

After reading around about tons of others models based on DisplayLink technology, looks like lag is always present whatever the system, the drivers, etc...
I guess this solution is not mature enough, and USB management seems to be the source of all the troubles.... DisplayLink solutions need to be improved, as it is of today it is not convincing at all. This lag cannot be acceptable whatever the cost of the solution |

There really shouldn't be much lag between your DisplayLink display and the native monitor. For apps, it should not be noticable at all. For video, you may notice some frame drop on full screen video at high resolutions.
What exactly do you mean by lag? There are many users successfully using USB displays with unnoticeable lag. Thanks Wim |
