Ubuntu 16.10 - Driver 1.2.65 Display not correctly initializing
Hi,
This version (and previous versions) of the driver were working on Ubuntu 16.04. I recently upgraded to 16.10 and haven't been able to get my external display working. On connecting the USB device X crashes and the following appears in dmesg: ``` [ 678.188368] evdi: [D] add_store:195 Increasing device count to 1 [ 678.189401] evdi: [D] evdi_crtc_init:312 drm_crtc_init: 0 [ 678.190781] evdi: [W] evdi_painter_crtc_state_notify:377 Painter does not exist! I have the same problem, did you ever find the solution?
I'm on 16.10 with a new Dell XPS 15 and a 'Dell Dock' as my displaylink adapter, i had this working on 16.04 |

Can you please raise start new threads with separate problems?
You mentioned X crash - is this raised somewhere already? We have also seen the regressed performance with Chrome @16.10 - we don't know what it is yet, Firefox is working fine on the same setup with same content. We could use some help understanding the root cause tbh. Cheers, Michal |

@Matej: the problem you're seeing is this: http://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64868 - we have confirmed this only happens with nouveau, and only with certain monitors. Thank you for reporting.
