Red face Displaylink v7.9.296.0 for Windows 10 Pro missing some fumctionality from previous v

Hi,

installed Windows 10 Pro and Displaylink v7.9.296.0, but when I right click on the Displaylink icon in the Windows 10 taskbar, some functionality that used to exist in previous Displaylink versions is missing. Specifically, the selections "extend display to left", "extend display to right", "extend display up", "extend display down" for my additional display. Uninstalled Displaylink, ran DL_Install cleaner, rebooted, reinstalled Displaylink, rebooted - still missing functions that existed on previous versions of Displaylink. Any solutions?

Hi,

Yes this was by design.

Do do the same thing you need to open Display settings.

You can open get to Display settings by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting it from the menu.

Note that to change resolution you'll need to open the Advanced display settings entry (located at the bottom of the Display settings window)

Thanks,
James

Default Extend to Right/Left missing

I went into Display Settings and Advanced Settings but still didn't see how to control which way I wish to extend my display to. Thanks for helping.

Hi,

Yes you can do this by changing the display layout in Display Settings.

In the above example, display #1 is the notebook monitor and display #2 is the external monitor

To set extend to left, select display #2 and drag it to the left of display #1
To set extend to right, select display #2 and drag it to the right of display #1
To set extend above, select display #2 and drag it above display #1
To set extend below, select display #2 and drag it below display #1

Thanks,
James
