Default Intermittent. 'no wake' of external monitors

First time reporter, hopefully i have the right details here:

Problem:

So since Sequoia landed I've been fighting a problem where sometimes opening the laptop its not seeming to wake and display on the external monitors. The monitors appear live and the power light goes green (active) from amber(standby) , but the external monitors stays black/blank. Further, in this setup the right hand external monitor is configured as primary display. The internal display shows as a secondary screen when this occurs confirming that macos believes there to be several monitors in play.

Kit listed at the end, I've installed the support tool and increased diagnostic logging. Im awaiting a recurrence to provide logs. Once I do i'll back this post up with mail to the support team as advised in "How to report macOS issues"

Mitigation:

A combination (unclear yet) of unplugging usb-c from laptop/wavlink, restarting wavlink , laptop reboot or repeating sleep/wake cycle seems to intermittently and unpredictably resolve. I experience the problem most days.

User behaviours that may contribute:

My habits include multiple dock modes. I dock at my garden office to the wavlink and gear detailed below. When I arrive I insert the power lead and the usb-c to the wavlink then open clamshell.

I regularly close and unplug the laptop.
I regularly open the laptop elsewhere and work on internal display only.
I regularly move to a second desk where an apple USB/hdmi/ucb-c adaptor connects the hdmi to a small dell monitor.
The issue is only seen when using the wavlink to connect to external monitors.

I would say I change location/config several times most days and for reference I rarely reboot.

I've not pinpointed the exact action that causes the issue. I experience on occasions it both when first arriving and connecting to the wavlink. Additionally on occasions when the laptop goes to sleep whilst connected and functioning the same issue will emerge upon wake.

Questions:
  • Where can i find the logs so i can ensure they're not growing out of control while I wait?
  • Any suggestions to help diagnosis when I manage to reproduce this?

Thanks

Mike

Default log file location and size

Self answering because the data may be useful to others.

Activity monitor | Displaylink manager | (i) info | "open files and ports"
Showed log files open in this directory

/Users/<myusername>/Library/Group Containers/73YQY62QM3.com.displaylink.DisplayLinkShared/Library/Application Support/Logs/

After being verbose for maybe an hour the director was about 3Mb in size... seems like it'll be ok to leave live until I manage to reproduce.

Im still interested in hearing of any useful steps to try when i get the problem.

If the original manufacturer of your product (Wavlink) has not been able to provide support for their product, then I would suggest reporting the issue to DisplayLink directly by following the process outlined here --> https://support.displaylink.com/know...to-displaylink
