Asus MB169B + MBP 2019 (16i) + Catalina 10.15.3 + Beta 0.2 -> NOT working
Hello,
my Asus MB169B+ stopped working ever since the upgrade to catalina. The desktop is barely switching on and by that i mean: it switches on 1 out of 10 times i plug it in but it never displays anything. I tried everything: - Install / delete / reinstall of the 5.2.1 drivers, update the privacy screen recording permissions. - cmd + R to update the Kext, since apparently the displaylink software is under the disabled software section (and not in the extensions). - Installed the DisplayLink manager which didn't do much, it just took away the possibility to add displaylink as a screen recording option. I also tried to install the 5.2.1 back, but it does not let me. Here is the log. DisplayLinkInfo_Output_20200225_085012.zip I really hope to hear from you and that i wont have to trash a piece of technology which is working fine for a software issue. |

In order to get the Targus docks to work with the latest Catalina update we had to use the following steps.
1) Install latest DisplayLink Beta driver https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1498 2) Plug in the AC power adapter that came with the Mac 3) open the Security > Privacy > Screen Recording (Notice there is nothing to click) 4) Plug in the docking station (which also has its own power) 5) The DisplayLinkUserAgent checkbox will now show up so you can check it 6) Reboot and remove the AC Power Adapter Once these steps were completed the docking station continued to function, until rebooted and the DisplayLink Manager software was not running. Opening DisplayLink Manager and going to the settings to select "Launch at Startup" resolved this issue as well. Last edited by Traviswreed2; 02-26-2020 at 09:20 PM. Reason: Clarification |
