Screen does match

Hi guys, first time at the forum.

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 5000 and a D3100 DockStation.

Also i Have a Phillips UltraWide Monitor 298P4.(2560x1080)

I connected the monitor using the displayport cable and it works well except the screen resolution.
it looks like the image doesnt fit with monitor resolution, i dont know how to explain very well but im attaching an image to see if anybody could help me.

Also i tried to use the tv scale and it also did not work cuz the resolution gets bigger than my screen or it gets smaller leaving the black bar on the top and bottom of the screen.

Can anyone help me out with this?
