Default audio issues with displaylink and Windows 8.1

I'm running 8.1 RTM with the 7.4 version of the DisplayLink drivers. The display and Ethernet both work fine, however my issue is with the drivers not always picking up the external speakers. I can change the default device to the laptop or even the lync headset and hear the audio, but it doesn't detect the external speakers. I uninstalled all the DisplayLink drivers and software last night, reinstalled it, and had the external speakers working. However, this morning after starting up the laptop, we're back to no audio. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi,

How are the speakers connected? Via USB or via a jack on on the dock?

What dock do you have?

Thanks,
James

Thanks for the reply.

The speakers are connected via the audio jack on the dock. The dock is a Targus ACP70USZ.
