Default Default Install ways for Mint Mate not working without errors

Hi
I have tried to install the Ubuntu display link driver on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8 with Linux Mint Mate 22.1. I know that this distro is not officially supported but since it is based on Ubuntu i thought there is a decent chance it might work.

Here is my situation:
Both ways of installing the driver like documented yield a success message. But after that the docking station (D6000) is not recognized.

Link to the documentation i used:
https://www.synaptics.com/products/d...wnloads/ubuntu

But after restart my D6000 is not recognized in any way.

Looking through the trouble shooting page found here:
https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/topics/103927-troubleshooting-ubuntu

I did the following but it did not work after reboot:
https://support.displaylink.com/know...work-on-ubuntu

From this page
https://support.displaylink.com/know...work-on-ubuntu

I noticed that the USB device is not recognized.
Because
Code:
lsusb -d 17e9:
does not list any results.
But the same machine works perfectly fine when booted with Windows. Thus a hardware issue can be disregarded.

/var/log/displaylink does only contain the (successful) installer-logs even after multiple restarts. Is this an indicator for something going wrong?

Can there logs be found in an other place?
Are there other ways to find out what is going wrong?
Should there be a displaylink.service visible in systemctl?
I have already searched the web and this forum for further diagnostics but could not find more helpful information. So any pointers are greatly appreciated.
