It happened again and when I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and then cancelled, everything was working again! Sounds like you may have a fix for me to test out! Great news! I'll send a quick note to support@plugable.com so you have my direct email in case needed.

Sorry to others for cluttering up this thread. Sounds like the scenario with the video/movie was in fact different.

I have the same issue with Mimo UM-710S USB monitor.
Movie displays OK on laptop screen, but on Mimo screen it freezes unless drop down menu is being displayed.
