Default Dual Monitors Flicker in Clam shell mode D3100

I'm running OS Catalina 10.15.7. Everything works fine on my windows laptop. When it comes to the MAC it flickers off and have to hit enter or click the mouse for it to go back on. It occasionally happens every minute. It works fine when I have the laptop open and using the monitors.

Attempted Solution:
- updated firmware for 3100
- uninstall and re-install display manager
- rebooted many times

Can you please assist? Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the forum.

Based on your description I believe that the behaviour that you are experiencing is due to working with lid closed (clamshell mode).

Currently our DisplayLink Manager is not supporting this feature as our engineers are still working on implementing it in our future drivers. What I may recommend right now is to stay with the lid opened or try using our legacy KEXT driver where the clamshell mode is available for Catalina OS.

In case of any questions, please let me know.

Kind regards,
Jakub
