Default Bum Dock? (Lenovo USB 3.0)

How do I tell if the problems I am having with my dock are software or hardware? I have the latest 8.1 driver (7.4) and my firmware from Lenovo is up to date. The dock keeps being disconnected from the laptop (X1 Carbon Touch) rendering it almost useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unhappy Happening again

Sorry for the delay. The dock suddenly started working without issue until today when it again has gone back into the circular pattern of connecting and disconnecting every few seconds. Attached are the debug logs.

Hi,

The support files tell us that there are usb connection errors.

Can you check if you have the latest hub firmware programmed?

Open up device manager, open up Universal Serial Bus controllers and right click on the entry called “Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub”.
Select “Properties”, select “Details”, change “Property” to “Hardware Ids” and the REV_xxxx value will tell you what version of firmware is programmed on the hub.

Let me know what revision is reported.

I didn't see the System_Details file in the collected logs - can you attach this so I can advise on your system?

It's also worth trying the "System Compatibility Check" option in the DisplayLink debug tool to see if anything is flagged up.

Thanks,
James

The Generic Superspeed USB Hub shows up twice in the Device manager, both with the same hardware ID: USB\VID_2109&PID_0811&REV_2198.

The compatibility check shows:
Pass: Basic mode support
Pass: Device attached
Pass: Device started correctly
Pass: Graphics driver date
Pass: WEI is above recommended 3
Pass: No Other USB graphics software installed

System Details attached. Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

I'd try the other port(s) on the system you are using and if possible try a different USB cable.

Thanks,
James

I will try a new cable but since this is a Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch, it only has one USB 3.0 port. Thanks!
