Windows Classic mode ever planned fixed?

For Aero Basic or Windows Classic, I know that Microsoft broke this with a Windows 7 update, but will this ever be fixed somehow? I do not an have no intention of using Aero so I'm hoping this can be fixed at some point. If it cannot, is it possible to patch Windows or talk to Microsoft about this?

From my perspective, I paid a lot of money for these DisplayLink items and if they're going to be broken from here on out with my configuration, I can no longer see reason to purchase them or advocate the purchasing of them.
