Default Monitor not detected? Need help

I'm using an Asus Universal Docking station that is connecting to my Asus laptop. I have a external Dell 17" monitor hooked to the docking station with a VGA cable. The laptop is running Windows XP and has the latest Display Link drivers installed.

The problem im having is that Display Link just stopped working with the monitor. The keyboard/mouse hooked to the docking station still work fine, but when I connect the monitor, the display link icon is not appearing in the system tray like supposed to. Also the monitor just stays sitting there waiting for a connection and does not come on.

I've tried DVI and VGA cables and another docking station. It seems to work for a day or two, but then this happens. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

It sounds like the DisplayLink chip is not being detected on the USB bus, rather than the monitor not being detected. Can you post the log files as described here:

Thanks
