Default Ubuntu 16.04 50-100% CPU usage when moving mouse

Hello,

I'm running a Dell Insiprion 5579 with a Dell Universal Dock D6000. When moving the mouse on one of the DisplayLink monitors the CPU usage on all 4 cores go up to 50-100% and the mouse is really laggy too. There is no difference whether I run Gnome or Unity.

And when I open something which does need a bit more frames - i.e. a YouTube video the CPU usage on all 4 cores is between 85 and 95% and the video is laggy too.

Even if I remove one of the two additional screen it doesn't change anything - it's still exactly the same behavior.

Are there any settings I can change to reduce the CPU load?
