Default Unable to install displaylink on windows 10 at all

Today I installed the release version of windows 10.
I updated all my drivers to the latest available.

Then I tried to install the latest DisplayLink drivers (DisplayLink_7.9M0) and I'm receiving the following error:

Anyone any idea what I can do about this?

The only version that I can install is the (DisplayLink_R7.9_Beta1) version.
However, when I install the Beta1 version, my laptop goes into a BSOD-loop (VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR) and can only be fixed by doing a systemrestore.

I hope you can help me resolve this issue.

Hi,

Can you attach the output of this tool as soon as you see this error?

I managed to get it to work!

Apparently my laptop didn't manage to download the correct drivers while connected to the domain.

I removed my laptop from the domain and connected the docking station.
Finally did it give me the popup to install the drivers and after that it worked!

FYI I also had this problem and was on a machine not on a domain. I followed the suggestion made by James@DisplayLink on "Black 2nd Screen" and all worked. The cleaner tool appeared to remove any leftover files that the installer was trying to remove but failed at.

Hi,

Please try these steps:

1. Disconnect your device
2. Uninstall DisplayLink software from the Control Panel
3. Run the Cleaner tool from here:

4. Install 7.9 M0 from here:

5. Reconnect your device

Thanks,
James

FYI I had the same problem trying to install on Windows 10, although my machine was not connected to a domain. For others getting a similar problem, I followed JamesH@DisplayLink's comments to "Black 2nd Screen" (included below) to get this to install properly.
Hope this helps others.

NOTE: DisplayLink staff, I suggest including a link to the "Cleaner Tool" from the downloads/drivers page as well.
