Default Build 10130 and 7.9 Beta 1 = Lag

Everything was working fine with previous builds but with the latest one 10130, lag is back.

Tried both drivers : Last one from Displaylink (7.9 Beta 1) and integrated one in Windows (7.8.62277.0) on UGA-4KDP usb 3.0 adapter, and lag is back.

Had to unplug the adapter, it's not usable as it is now.

Seems related to Windows 10 because everything was fine with previous versions.

Reverted to 10122 and problem is gone. Definitely related to 10130 and displaylink driver compatibility.

Anybody else noticed some issue that appeared only since 10130 build ?

I'm having a similar issue. It is unbearable. I am thinking about rolling back builds.

Is displaylink trying to stay up to date on this?

I haven't noticed any problem with 10130 and 7.9beta1.
What do you mean by lag?

Hi all,

Could you please post some brief system details (cpu, gpu, gpu driver version) so we can see if there is a common factor? As we can see here some people say it's really bad whilst others are seeing no issues.

Thanks,
Paul

Forgot to mention that the issue seems to be worse when outlook 2013 is pulled up.

This happens on my system as well (Surface Pro 1 + TOSHIBA dynadock). I tried version 7.9.95.0 of DisplayLink Manager.

It's especially apparent when moving windows between monitors. Usually it's much worse after a full day of work. After a restart, and with non-maximized windows (window shadows sometimes leak onto the next screen) the performance is acceptable.

But the system usually suddenly becomes almost ununsable:
  • Typing in Outlook (even on main screen) comes to a crawl (1 character/second)
  • Mouse cursor movements become very jerky
  • Simple things that are usually completed within milliseconds now suddenly take multiple seconds

Task manager shows low CPU usage, but the fans spin up nonetheless.

Yep i can confirm the same problem. Outlook is just unusable (despite it not being on the display link screen). Its crazy how slow typing gets.

Intel i5 2540M 2.6GHz
8GB ram
64 bit windows 10 10130
Outlook 2013

I am having the same problem.. After a clean boot everything seems to be at its best. after a few minutes of loading Outlook or visual studio the screens that are driven by displaylink start to lag. I have a Surface pro 3 hooked up to a kensington sd3500v usb 3 dock with 2 attached monitors. Surface pro 3 is running windows 10 build 10130 with the new updates that were released today. my Mouse will start to lag hard on the displaylink attached monitors but moves very smoothly on the surface screen.. All applications start to lag, (when on the displaylink screens) however if I drag the same app to the non-displaylink driven surface screen it operates as expected. It is a progressive problem and gets worse and worse until a reboot of the pc (I have also been performing a hard power cycle of the usb3 dock at that point as well).. What we mean by mouse lagging is that when I move the mouse to click on something I commonly overshoot what I am trying to click. Also if I move the mouse at a normal speed I see it jump across the screen in 1 -2 inch increments instead of a smooth motion. And if I click an drag something, it is 2-3 seconds before I see it start to move. At that point it is choppy and is really bad when transitioning between screens. Did not see this issue prior to this build of windows 10

Hi all,

For people seeing issues, is it possible to check if Windows Defender is running when the system is performing badly?

Thanks,
Paul
