Unhappy Screen rotation not available in MacOS Catalina 10.15.5

Installing the Driver 5.2.4 and DisplayLink Manager 1.0.0 recognized the external monitors. However I could not rotate any of the monitors connected to the display link. The option doesn't show up. Not even by opening system preferences holding option+cmd.

By doing this im able to rotate the builtin retina screen but no option on the external monitor display menu. Any ideas?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our support.

DisplayLink Manager App v1.0 limitation is lack of rotation support. This functionality is available in classic driver.

Please check the following article for more information: https://support.displaylink.com/know...ntroduction-in

If you wish to revert to classic driver you need to uninstall your DisplayLink App and install driver 5.2.4 available under the following link: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1581

Instructions how to revert to classic driver are included in the first link.

Best regards,
Katarzyna

Do these drivers work with Catalina 10.15.7?

Hey, I'm experiencing the same issue here. I found out that what happened is that after Catalina update to 10.15.7, the clamshell mode (this is when we close the laptop and only use the external monitors) is not working. On the new DisplayLink Manager we have the same issue either.

In order to fix it, simply uninstall the DisplayLink Manager, go back to the DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for macOS 5.2.4 version and never close your laptop before blocking the screen (Ctrl + Command + Q). In case you do so, the Mac will bug and you won't be able to set up the rotation again, even if you reopen the laptop. The only way I found to get rid of this bug is to restart the Mac.

One more clue: the main monitor needs to be the Mac's. So when in Settings, under the organising windows layout, certify that the white bar is over the Mac's display, not the external ones. If you need to fix it, simply click on the white bar and drag it to the Mac's display. If you accidentally put on the external monitors, you'll have to bring to the Mac's one and restart the Mac.

Let's cheer for the DisplayLink to fix this issue soon.

Best,
Mateus.
