Question iMac 2019 - 3 monitors - Catalina 10.15.4

Hi There,

I have a 27" 2019 iMac with 3 displays. I have my iMac in the middle with a Samsung SyncMaster T220 on each side.

Everything works, but.....

When I power off and back on, the monitors re-arrange themselves so that the Samsung monitors are both on the left hand side of my iMac monitor.

Is there a way or place for me to have my preferred arrangement stick? So I don't have to reset this each time I power down and back up.

We live in a very Rural environment where the power goes out at least once a month. So I find powering everything off when I am done using it to be the safest way to preserve my equipment.

Best regards,

Glenn

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us!

Please run a short script in the terminal as a command. It will reset display settings and restore display persistence. It should allow to save your screen layout settings.

Perform these actions only with 1 laptop display, do not attach any external monitors.
  1. Download the file: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?d=145
  2. Run the file (it will give you an information that it is not authorized due to security)
  3. If you will see the message about security -> Go to Security & Privacy, General tab, choose: Allow App Store and identified developers.
  4. Next to it you should have a pop up message about our display persistence script.
  5. It will open terminal after double click and ask for the password, put the password.
  6. Reboot your computer

Thank you,
Katarzyna
