Default Support for 17.10

Hi,

do you plan support for Ubuntu 17.10 (kernel 4.13)? If so, when?

It seems that 4.13 support was fixed https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues/99

Thanks!

Default Fixed

I can confirm that release 1.4 works on 17.10 without hacks described above. Thanks!

Hi Jarek, how's the performance for you on Ubuntu 17.10 and release 1.4?
It's deadly slow for me: https://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65650

Hi tomekit,

I am using DL for connecting 3rd monitor that I use almost solely for displaying web pages. I am developer so they are typically static - like documentation, no dynamic content like youtube. And for that purpose it is fast enough.

What I noticed is tearing during heavy load of system and also lag when I scroll long page. Also when I use laptop out of the dock it feels much faster. With DL connected it feels like using remote desktop - everything is slower due to higher latency - on all screens. I guess DL drivers are culprit,

I wish I can directly connect two monitors to my notebook and don't need to spent my time with DL drivers...

Thanks for your feedback Jarek.
Yeah, life without dealing with DisplayLink on Linux would've been much easier.
Next time going to consider the laptop outputs.
Even though, I still believe that DisplayLink team can eventually address those issues.
Good luck !

Hello, I can confirm at 100% Jarek's message.
I have a Dell Latitude7480 + 2 additional screen and the feeling is the same : remote desktop like.
Thank you for future improvement !

Two more successes with DL 1.4 and Ubuntu 17.10. Two different approaches.
