Default Dock 410 - not recoginzed in windows

Received this item a week ago, tried installing on three different window 10 laptops. The dock when plugged in does NOT appear in the devices window. The mouse, keyboard, and Ethernet does work when connected, but no monitor displays. When called into support, they said that this device is so new they have no support documentation for it. Tried installing the latest display link and dock drivers with no luck as well

Help!

Hello John,

Would you mind using our customer support tool to post the ZIP file it creates?
This will tell me what Targus has embedded in their dock. The tool is in the last link of my forum signature.

We are a semiconductor company, we don't make end products for anyone.

Kind regards,
Alban

Hi again,

I was puzzled so looked deeper.
http://targus.com/au/usb-c-1k-4k-dua...specifications

The product page for the Dock 410 states this is USB alt-mode.
--> DisplayPort, HDMI and DVI-D ports (up to 3840x2160) via USB-C alternate mode native video

This is not USB. This is not using DisplayLink technology.

Kind regards,
Alban

I have the same problem with the Dock 410. It would help if Targus had software.

Spinmaker, you will have to ask them for feedback on their product not involving us in any way...

Default USB Type-C Does NOT Mean Video

Since Targus released the DOCK410 USB Type-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode Universal Docking Station with Power Delivery Profile 4 we have seen allot of this issue. That is, you must be sure the USB Type-C port you are plugging the dock into is either DisplayPort Alternate Mode or the compatible Thunderbolt 3 for video.

USB Type-C with just power or just USB does not have video!

Therefore, there is no software to remedy a lack of USB Type-C hardware support of video.

Follow or check-out targusblog.com to learn more.

IMHO, DisplayLink based USB 3.0 docks that will work with most USB Type-C host ports are more universal if you will.
