Display link software - AMD CPU usage
Can anyone tell me what the latest released version of software is going to have the best impact for the DL-3xxx versions?
I've been searching on the Display link support areas and it's possible the version was released quite some time ago but I'm having a hard time finding it. Basically what I'm after is that version that will allow less consumption/usage on AMD CPU's. Windows 10 Pro version 1909 AMD CPU Ryzen 7 2700 |

Hello,
Our development efforts have been focused on levaraging the powerful AMD GPUs rather than CPU as we get much better results. This however is for newer generation products based on the DisplayLink DL-6000 series. The driver is designed to use what is available to reach comfortable framerate and latency. If you have actual numbers of usage (screenshot of task manager will do) with the description of the use case, I can see if that's a normal range or if this is abnormal. We are in discussion with Microsoft about something different but that be what your issue may actually be. 30130: CPU fan usage has increased between Windows 10 RS3 and RS4+ (v1709 to v1803+), but the work has been multi-teams and doesn't progress as quickly as we would like or need. Kind regards, Alban

It's not so much that I'm having an issue but more so not wanting to update software if there's no point. Such as stability improvement for the newest version of Windows 10, security update etc... Hope that helps clarify? |

Yes, it does, thank you.
With the latest release, we have improved some behaviour at reconnection, when sometimes the display would not be added straight away. We generally try and raise the bar at each release. We are mostly used in enterprise, and we don't want to be a pain forcing IT managers to validate drivers for their corporation, so updates aren't compulsory. If we had a security issue, we would try and persuade the manufacturer to make the new driver as critical udpate on Windows Update so all get it. If you're satisfied, then keep what you have. We issue a single installer for all end products to keep it simple. So 9.3 M0 is the latest for your product today. Kind regards, Alban
