Default Windows 8.1 plug and play for HP USB Graphics Adapter

Windows 8.1 does not automatically download and install (plug and play) the latest Display Link driver when an external monitor is attached using HP USB Graphics adapter. Is installing the Display Link driver manually the only option? Is it possible for Display Link to add their newest driver to the Windows 8.1 driver repository (Windows Update I assume) so that the Display Link drivers can be plug and play compatible? I'm just not sure if the Display Link driver should automatically download OR if I need to have all customers updated using the installer from the Display Link site.

Any feedback appreciated! Thank you.

Hi,

Yes the HP products are not covered by Windows update.

You'll need to get the latest drivers either from our site or the HP site.

Thanks,
James
