Displaylink Shuts Down
I have been running my Displaylink on Windows 7 for a couple of years. For the most part it worked fine, until recently it began shutting down for no apparent reason. I use USB 2.0, I have run the displaylink through a USB 2.0 hub and directly to the USB ports on my laptop and the problem occurs both ways.
I have the support tool installed but I'm not sure how to access the dump file needed to analyze the problem. I've also read other posts that said to check your power settings and make sure they are set for high performance (mine are). And also to set USB devices that have the option, to never power down. Any help resolving this is appreciated. |

Hi,
When you reply please select "Manage Attachments" from the "Additional Options" section below. From there select Upload and navigate to the output of the tool which will be in a folder called "DisplayLink Support Files" on your desktop. Thanks, James |

Hi,
From a look at the logs you have this issue: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=324 Thanks, James |

Hi,
Agreed, but the logs show PID_8060 which tells me that it previously has failed. Thanks, James |

Is it a hardware problem then?
For example, approximately 20 minutes after I connected the DisplayLink, to show you the screenshot of the device properties... it stopped working. Here's a screenshot of what the device properties looked like after it stopped working and another support dump. |

Hi,
Yes, I'm afraid it is a hardware issue with the adapter. Thanks, James |
