Cannot get latest version of drivers working with Ubuntu 16.04
Hello,
I have been trying to get the new and previous versions of the Ubuntu drivers to work on my hardware. I know the display works, works fine with my mac. But when connected to the Ubuntu computer, the display flashes and sometimes displays a mirror of the main display and sometimes not. When I check the system log file, there is definitly a crash going on in the displaylink drivers, I just don't know if it is something I can fix with a setting. A zip file with the error logs captured via the display link tool is attached. Thanks for any help.; Craig |

Doesnt work for me either
I have tried using three different USB cords. The older 1.1.68 driver release, works on this display except that the USB display will not come back on after suspend and unplugging the USB display causes the system to crash. So I do not believe it is an issue with cord quality.

Any ideas? I was hoping to use a USB displaylink monitor for a CES demo this week, but it doesn't look that that will happen.....

Hi,
Yes - Thanks for the report. We've found a problem in code that we added to the latest Linux driver in order to boost performance - it has problems when the resolution of the screen is 1366x768. A workaround is to use an older version (1.1.x), which will have lower performance - or change the resolution to another (which may be hard if the problematic mode is preferred - which is the case for some USB powered screens like @cpeddie88 uses). We'll include the fix for this in next Linux driver refresh - sadly, I do not have a date. Regards, Michal |

Thank you so much for this information Michal. It is good to have some sort of an explanation.
It might be helpful to some other users if this issue was included on the "known issues" page. http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...rticles/641668 Is there any sort of rough estimate on the next release? Are we looking at weeks, months, 6+ months? Thanks again for all the work you guys do on the Ubuntu driver, we really appreciate it! |

Hi, at the moment I estimate we'll be able to refresh the Linux driver in a few weeks, watch this space...
Cheers, Michal |
