Default Windows 8 Issue

Ever since I installed the DisplayLink driver on my Windows 8 machine I have been having issues with using Netflix the W8158 error about a graphic drive update required. I also cannot play Diablo 3 in full screen as I can no longer create a Direct3d device. I will uninstall the software and driver and reinstall my Intel HD 4000 device and see if the issue resolves. I have NVIDIA Optimus technology so I have the 640M LE and the Intel 4000. I hope an update is developed soon to resolve this issue.

Diablo 3 will now work in full screen after uninstall, however Netflix just opens to a blank screen in Windows 8. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it.

Oh I should also let you know that I'm using the Targus USB 3.0 Dock with Power with the ability to add 2 displays.

Interesting, i seem to have a similar setup. I'm running an XPS-15 with Intel 4000 and Nvidia 640m gt gfx cards. Im using the non-powered targus usb 3.0 dock with windows 8 but i cant get the displays connected to it to show up at all. Did you upgrade to windows 8 or was this a clean install?

It was a clean Windows 8 install. The only thing I can suggest is let Windows find the driver rather than download it. I'm still trying to figure out as to why this driver breaks not only certain windows 8 apps but also Direct 3D.

Bump. Any update on this? It is becoming cumbersome to uninstall displaylink every time I want to play a Direct3d game.

We have reproduced the issue with Diablo III and looking into a fix for this in a future software release. The Netflix issue is open and we're trying to reproduce.

Thanks for the update as for the Netflix issue I'm really not sure why but even after I uninstall Displaylink I still can't use it however the error I receive when it is installed is W8158 that states a graphics driver update is required when attempting to play.

I've got the Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421 and I have the exact same issue with most of the games I tried in Windows 8. After uninstalling the displaylink drivers everything works as it should.
If I reinstall windows 7 will I be able to play games with the displaylink driver's installed or will I be getting the same Direct3d error while trying to launch games?
I would like to just confirm this before I reinstall windows 7.
thanks

Default Netflix W8158 on Windows 8

I'm having the same issue. Uninstall DisplayLink - Netflix works great. Install Displaylink, and I start getting W8158 when I try to play a movie in Netflix.
