Default Unable to set advertised resolution for displays

Hi,
I have two displays that should be able to run 2560x1440. For some reason only one of them at a time can display this resolution. When I connect both I get a notification saying that resolution is adjusted for better performance or something.

Is it possible to force display link to use 2560x1440 on both displays? Currently I am using only one, since it is better for me to work with x1440 on one screen than x1152 on two (don't ask me why, just personal preference I guess)

My equipment is
- Two screens with max resolution 2560x1440
one connected with HDMI, one with DisplayPort
- HP X7W54AA#ABB (HP Elite USB-C Docking Station G2)
- MacBook Pro late 2016 with Sierra and DisplayLink 3.0 for Mac

Thank you for your help!

BR
Andreas

Hi,

Your product does not support simultaneously two 2560x1440 screens.
The majority of DL-3xxx and DL-5xxx based product only support one with a few exceptions like the Dell D3100 and the Targus ACP77.
All docks based on the newer DL-6xxx should be able to support up to two 4kp60 at the same time.

You could get a dock that supports higher resolutions or simply add an adapter connecting it to the docking station. That's the beauty of proper USB video!
We keep a list of product on our website: http://www.displaylink.com/products

Cheers,

Any idea about an updated version? Should we get it soon?

Hi,

These are hardware specifications, a driver update won't change them.

If future-proofing is important, the first DL-6xxx products have started shipping at the end of last year. With dual 4Kp60 it should work well for most people for a while, especially considering that multiple docks can be used for massive setups.

Regards,
Carlo
