Cool Mint 18 on Dell Inspiron not booting

Hi,

I've installed LM18 and updated it.
Then installed the latest DL-driver.

The driver worked and got a desktop on my 2nd monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2443)

When I rebooted the boot got stuck with watchdog messages.
If I boot with or without the Dell DisplayLink connected makes no difference, hence I can't use the DisplayLink-tool to gather information...

Short of reinstalling again anyone any idea what's going on ?

I can hardly read the screen-messages on the laptop as they're also in 4k-mode.

LM18 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, kernel 4.4
I'm using the Dell DisplayLink and it's all USB3.
