Default Ubuntu 20.04 displaylink driver breaks gui.

Hello,

when installing the DisplayLink driver on Ubuntu 20.04 the GUI does not launch anymore instead I get a "-" blinking on the screen. Uninstalling the driver solves the issue.

Drivers tried: displaylink-driver-5.4.1-55.174 and displaylink-driver-5.6.0-59.176

OS: Ubuntu 20.04 with 5.4.168-0504168-generic

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 - 4300U

How I got the error: I installed the driver (no errors) and rebooted. Then Ubuntu would not start the GUI anymore but just show the "-". I could open other tty and uninstall the driver again. Then after reboot, the GUI would start as expected.

It seems like the Xserver fails to start. The outputs during the fail:

dmesg output: https://1drv.ms/t/s!AhEE6JEtcSubg-Jt...dfF1A?e=c4mRJg

journal ctl: https://1drv.ms/t/s!AhEE6JEtcSubg-Ju...-qAYg?e=lW1b8T

/var/lib/gdm3/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhEE6JEtcSubg-Jv...ez9iw?e=QmoXEv

If you could help me with this issue it would be nice :-)

Default fixed by just reinstalling os and upgrading to ubuntu 22.

I couldn't fix the original problems so I "fixed" it by just reinstalling the os and upgrading to ubuntu 22.
