Resolved Win 10 Anniversary Update Perf Issues
Wanted to share a win today. I have the Lenovo USB 3.0 Dock based on the DL-3000 series chip. Ran great under Win 8 and Win 10, but -everything- felt like it slowed down when connected to the dock after the Win 10 Anniversary update.
After some searching, I found this document: http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...ncy-desktop-pi And believe it or not, it worked! My issue was the power settings for the graphics card and processor. Win 10 Ann Update reverted all my "High Performance" settings back to balanced. Switching from "Balanced" to "High-Performance" made it feel like a new PC! I also tried disabling the Adaptive Cooling stuff in the BIOS, but saw little difference compared to the default settings of "Max Performance" for the "On A/C Power" section. Hope this helps someone else, this was a major performance bump for me. I'm back to being able to watch full-screen HD YouTube videos on my displaylink connected monitors ThinkPad w/ i5-3317U (1.8Ghz) Triple 1080 Displays (1xDisplayPort, 2x DL-3000 Dock) |
