Asus Varidrive - Surface Pro - Dual Monitors Not Displaying

I have a Surface Pro and connected the Asus Varidrive (that uses DisplayLink) which provides a DVD, 3 x 3.0 USBs, Ethernet, VGA and HDMI ports. The issue is I have two 23" monitors, one plugged into the HDMI port and one plugged into the VGA port, and only the HDMI appears to be recognized. What is odd, if both plugged in and then I unplug the HDMI, it instantly jumps to the other VGA monitor. When i look at devices when both plugged in, it only shows one monitor. NEED BOTH MONITORS TO BE RECOGNIZED...APPRECIATE YOUR HELP.

ASUS chose to use the DL-3500 for the Varidrive, which only supports 1 external display. You can connect the display using VGA or HDMI, but only 1 will work at a time.

If you want both outputs to work, then you would need to buy a universal dock based on the DL-3900.
