Mouse not moving smoothly with DisplayLink on M1 MacBook Air
Hello. I'm using macOS Version 11.4 (Build 20F71) and I need assistance. I'm experiencing an issue with DisplayLink software and/or hardware:
My mouse cursor is not moving smoothly (jiggering, like with low refresh rate) on my main display Lenovo ThinkVisioin P32u-10 not attached via DisplayLink USB Adapter (it's attached via Thunderbolt 3 cable natively). My mouse cursor DOES move smoothly on my second monitor HP EliteDisplay E321i that is in use via DisplayLink, attached via StarTech USB 3.0 to HDMI Adapter (https://www.startech.com/en-us/audio...cts/usb32hdpro). When I quit DisplayLink Manager, my mouse cursor moves smoothly again on my main display Lenovo P32u-10 (of course the second display is then not available because of no DisplayLink Manager running). When I open up DisplayLink Manager again, mouse cursor on my main display P32u-10 jitters again. My computer is M1 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM and 2TB SSD. What’s the problem? Why is DisplayLink affecting my main display not related to DisplayLink at all? I’m running DisplayLink Manageri 1.4.0 (Build 57.120). I send a support ticket yesterday while still on 1.3.0, but have since realised there's a new version, but it didn't change the behaviour. Thanks for any help or information about this issue! It’s making my everyday work unpleasant on my 32" screen. |

I am also experiencing major slowness on my MacBook with external monitor ever since I started using the new DisplayLink driver.
In my case, the slowness seem to start when I join a video conference. The problem seems most acute when I share my screen. I've tried both Google Meet and Zoom and I experience major slowness on both (to the point where I cannot even open a simple webpage while sharing screen). When I disconnect my DisplayLink docking and share my MacBook's screen the slowness goes away. I am wondering if there is a problem with the new driver that causes the MacBook to overheat and throttle. Last edited by xavierr; 06-29-2021 at 11:39 AM. |
