Default Problems with DisplayLink on Ubuntu 22.04

I know I'm not the only one, so I took some hours to go through all the available hoops, from cleaning the headers
Code:
sudo apt remove --purge linux-headers-*
and so forth, installing the most recent evdi-dkms, whatnot.

The most recent driver installs perfectly okay, but after reboot the screen briefly shows an error, that the DisplayLink driver could not be started.
Since then, dmesg shows all few seconds
Code:
module: x86/modules: Skipping invalid relocation target, existing value is nonzero for type 1
.

I don't think the install found problems (see attachment)

Any hint will be appreciated.
