Default Emulating a Docking Station

If I have a universal docking station with a monitor and keyboard, I can connect a laptop and use the monitor and keyboard to control the laptop.

If I had something like a displaylink server software on my PC, the PC could emulate a docking station. Connection a laptop then, I could control the laptop with the PC.

Is this possible?

Remote Desktop, or VNC would do it. Providing both the desktop and laptop are on the network, generally can use IP or Machine Name.

Might be possible to use those tools if you connect the laptop to the desktop over a ethernet connection (2nd ethernet connection on the desktop).
