Unhappy 2x USB 2.0 UGA different Resolutions?

Hi All,

Just upgraded to 5.6 and have problem that wasn't there with 4.6.

Setup is as follows;
- HP Compaq 8510p Laptop (Lid Closed) on HP Docking station.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600
- HP Compaq L2105tm (Primary monitor) via docking station (DVI)
- 2x Acer X233h Monitors with USB 2.0 UGA adapters

Before upgrade I could setup both Acer monitors with 1920x1080, but post upgrade only one will do 1920x1080, the other says it is but the monitor reports that the signal is 1680x1050. When in the display properties 1680x1050 isn't even available? but the list of available resolutions is different between the 2 Acers.

If I roll back to 4.6 I can get 1080 on both?

Both USB 2.0 UGA adapter were bought from the same supplier, but 6 months apart. (Firmware difference?)

Cheers Gus..

Hi BoffinGus,

Please download the Windows DisplayLink debug tool from this website, then gather the system information and upload the zip file to this thread. (delete memory.dmp file if the zip file is too large to upload). This would give us more information as to what might be wrong.

Thanks

Were both monitors connected to your laptop when running the support tool? It looks like only one that is setup with 1920x1080 was connected...Please connect both monitors, or if both were connected, then please attach only the one that cannot do 1920x1080 and re-run the support tool.

Thanks

Hi Pawel,

Yes both were connected.

I've just downgraded to 4.6 and used the support tool, attached zip.

I'll go back to 5.6 and connect only the X233H that does 1680x1050

Hi Pawel,

Back to 5.6 and only with Monitor that says it's in 1920x1080 but monitor OSD says it's still 1680x1050. Zip attached.

I'll sawp USB 2.0 UGA adapters and see what happens.

Can you now setup both monitors with 1920x1080?

Hi Pawel,

Yes both can now be set to 1920x1080.

But device that wasn't doing 1920x1080 has less resolutions available than the other?
