Default Installing DisplayLink causes all displays to appear blank

Hello folks,

I've just installed Ubuntu 19.04 (MATE edition), and I'm having an odd issue that I can't seem to find any past topics about. After installing the DisplayLink driver, rebooting the computer, and then enabling the display -- all attached screens go black (laptop display, display plugged into laptop's native display port, and the one attached through my USB Dock).

The only way to fix this issue is to reboot without the USB display plugged in.

I've doubled checked that I am using X11 instead of Wayland, and I have all updates installed.

Happy to provide whatever else might be needed as well.
